A stand-alone list of SprintNet and Tymnet local access numbers all over this great world of ours, for networking Macintosh fiends.
To use it, find the city, state or country you're in - or headed for - in the table of contents on the next page, or surf the pages. You can also use the built-in finder by typing Command-F and entering the location in question in the dialogue box.
States are organized roughly by time zone. The Eastern states are broken up into two chapters because there is too much data for a single chapter in the document format.
Under each state/country name in the left column are listed all cities with local access numbers. The center column denotes modem access speed. Entries without numbers here are 1200 baud rate.
The right column is the local numbers, with country- and city-access codes, if applicable.
The far right column denotes what net you're accessing (if you have any preference).
The code (obviously) is:
S = Sprintnet, T = Tymnet
The general listing order is:
9600/14.4k SprintNet
9600/14.4k Tymnet
2400 SprintNet
2400 Tymnet
1200 SprintNet
1200 Tymnet
The last two pages contain listings for Canada and assorted countries around the globe respectively. The codes are the same as U.S. codes.
I wouldn't recommend printing this list; you would need to level a small forest to make sufficient paper. If you absolutely must, be aware how many pages it takes:
Intro - 3 pgs.
Contents - 1 pg.
Eastern 1 - 12 pgs.
Eastern 2 - 11 pgs.
Central - 12 pgs.
Mountain - 3 pgs.
Pacific - 9 pgs.
Canada - 2 pgs.
Offshore - 12 pgs.
____________________________
Total - 65 pgs.
Fair warning.
America Online users in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, probably Japan, and probably everywhere else offshore - be prepared for a 20¢/min. offshore surcharge.
I created this document to help me in my work as a touring theatrical technician and concert rigger (i.e. a "roadie"). I like to be able to set up my modem links in advance, in order to save time on the road, and previously available lists were sadly out of date, somewhat incomplete, and otherwise inaccurate. I keep this document, or an alias of it, in the Apple Menu of my PowerBook.
Information is current as of 12-4-94. I plan on updating it at least 3-4 times a year, depending on how often the networking envelope gets pushed.
If you find incorrect numbers, or numbers that got left off the most recent Sprint/MCI master lists, please let me know via e-mail at one of the addresses listed below.
It should be noted that numerous 1200 baud numbers that may still be functional have been left off the current MCI files .
Keeping this document fresh is very important to me, as I'm sure it would be to you.
Your comments/suggestions are most welcome at the same address.
Fan mail from fellow theatrical employees is also welcome.

Make your check or money order payable to Dave Vick, or just send cash. (Sure, I'll accept cash. Somebody has to. Non-denominational gold bullion would be nice, too...) For what it's worth, even though I was able to work on it more than 20 hours a week, this document still took over a month to complete.
$15 ain't much, and I did have to regester DOCMaker, now didn't I?
